More speculations about the much hyped Apple iTV, in our last post we have published about the expected 4k television from Apple commonly being referred to now as iTV. It is supposed to be a 4K or Ultra HD TV. Supply chain rumors have it that the television will be available in the market either in the last quarter of this year or the first quarter of the next. But it won’t be called iTV since it is a trademark owned by a television channel in the United Kingdom.
More speculations are here about the Apple TV and this time it is from Topeka Capital Markets’ Brian White. He says that he recently met with Apple’s Asian suppliers and he has found out that Apple might be shipping an iRing, a mini iTV and an Apple SmartWatch with the iTV. Most of the things that he is saying seem to be too much into the future and might not be seen in the first offering of the Apple TV, but here is what he says.
He is saying that the iTV will come with an iRing. It is supposed to be a motion sensitive device, which will use gestures to control the television.
The other thing he says is coming is a mini iTV. It will be a device much the size of the iPad, which can be carried anywhere inside the house to view the television content. But experts believe that there will actually be an iPad app available for the iTV, not a mini iTV. The third thing he says is coming is an Apple SmartWatch, which can be used in combination with the iTV to control it and also to use the functionalities of a smartphone.
Here is an excerpt from what he said,
Essentially, we believe the mini iTV screens will be able to capture content from the 60-inch iTV across a distance of up to 200 meters, allowing a user to view iTV content in the kitchen, washroom, garage, bedroom, backyard, etc.
We believe Apple will offer one ‘mini iTV’ per iTV, but package options will include up to four screens (i.e., one screen is part of the standard package and pay extra for each additional.
He further said,
Furthermore, we believe iWatch will be an important part of the iTV ecosystem, tapping into iTV services in a much more mobile friendly manner, complementing the iRing.
The interaction between iTV and making phone calls will be an important feature of this experience, while the iWatch and iRing will provide increased mobility around the home, supplanting the need to carry a smart phone around the house.
Most of what Mr. White is saying seems to be too futuristic to be available with the iTV. But this is Apple that we are talking about. So, we should just wait and watch. You never know what comes out of the Apple pipeline.Top Trending Articles :
