iPhone 5S Release Date Update, If reports are to be believed, then an iPhone 5S can be in your hands by the third quarter of this year. Since the model is an ‘S’ version, it won’t have any structural changes. It will feature only internal variations. The most anticipated features are an improved camera and a faster processor. Some experts are also saying that the iPhone 5S will come with inductive charging. But it does not seem to be a very credible piece of information. So, maybe the next upgrade will have this feature, but not this. Some are also saying that the 5S will have a fingerprint sensor, which again does not seem to be quite accurate.
The following is a report by DigiTimes:
Components for the next-generation iPhone will start shipping at the end of May with the new smartphone to have a chance of showing up in the third quarter, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
The sources pointed out that if the components are all shipped smoothly, manufacturers should be able to deliver the new iPhones to retail channels in 1-2 weeks for them to be ready to sell in the third quarter.
The iPhone 5S is expected to feature a higher-end processor as well as higher-megapixel camera modules, the sources said.
These two claims seem quite obvious since almost every new upgrade of an iPhone s come with a better camera and a faster processor. DigiTimes also reported that Apple has been working on a sub $300 iPhone, but it says that it is just a rumor.
So, if shipping of components start by the end of May, then there is a fairly good chance that the iPhone 5S will be available for sale by the third quarter of 2013. But the widely anticipated feature, inductive or wireless charging, may be missing from this upgrade. And so may be the fingerprint sensor.
Do you think that this upgrade is unnecessary and Apple should have instead introduced the iPhone 6 next year with a slightly different form factor and with the anticipated features? Leave your comments and views below.Top Trending Articles :
