iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak

iOS 10 is fast approaching 6 months old and the slew of updates from Apple has slowed somewhat as the latest firmware stabilizes and becomes less prone to trouble. iOS 10.1.1 is the latest version and, if you haven’t yet done so, you can find instructions on how to download it in the given link [ iOS 10.1.1 Download – ext link ]. It isn’t a big update, merely another one that fixes a few bugs that arose after the release of iOS 10.1.1, with no new features expected until the next big update, possibly iOS 10.2.

iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak :

What is still conspicuous by its absence is a jailbreak and, at this moment in time, we don’t even have any news for you on when one may be released. With iOS 10.1.1 firmware being relatively new, we can’t expect an iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak [ext link] to be released straight away because both Taig and Pangu need to do some work on the iOS firmware to see if it is able to be jailbroken.  Also, with the speed that the updates have been coming out at, it has been pretty much impossible for the teams to get any work done before another is released.

There are some grumblings through the jailbreak community that, if one develop ca produce a jailbreak, why can’t Pangu or Taig do it ? Luca Todesco is one developer who is fond of jailbreaking new firmware when it is released but will never release his utilities for public use. It is part of his job as a security researcher to find vulnerabilities and exploit them but, by announcing them publicly and showing off videos of his jailbreaks, the only thing he has done is let Apple know that there are vulnerabilities there and they can catch them before anyone else has a chance to do anything with them.

Todesco, and other developers who do the same thing, also tend to only have to build a jailbreak for a couple of devices whereas the jailbreak teams have to ensure that what they come up with will work on the vast majority of iOS devices and that can number millions, it also causes an awful lot more work and that mean more time is needed.

iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak Release :

As we said, we don’t have a date at the moment so all we can do is hold on for a bit longer. If you are still using the PPHelper jailbreak on iOS 9.3.3 [ext link], hang on to it and don’t update until we have some more positive news for you.  We are expecting news in the near future so, in the meantime, follow us on Facebook and Subscribe to our free email newsletter for more up to date news.
